Background

High school students from participating schools who have registered to vote will receive a “John Lewis Civic Engagement” Honor Cord from the John and Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation.

Each participating high school will register with the John and Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation to participate in the program.

Voter registration status will be verified using the Secretary of State’s My Voter page mvp.sos.ga.gov by May 15th.

Each high school principal will email their verified number of students to receive the cords to [email protected] by May 16th.

Each high school principal will sign off on the verification.

Once verified, the John and Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation will send the required number of Honor Cords to the high school for distribution.

Participating students will be asked to sign the JLMLF Civic Engagement Pledge, indicating that they are registered to vote and that they intend to be actively engaged in their community and be a consistent voter in future elections.
