Early voting is underway across much of the country ahead of the November 3, 2026, general election. For millions of Americans, voting before Election Day provides an opportunity to participate in our democracy at a time that works best for them.

Early Voting in Georgia

In Georgia, early in-person voting began October 13 and continues through Friday, October 30.

Georgia voters can visit the Secretary of State's My Voter Page to check their registration status, find early voting locations and hours, and view a sample ballot. According to the vote-trackin GeorgiaVotes website, as of October 22, 1.3 million people in Georgia have already voted early.

Early Voting Across the Country

If you live outside of Georgia, some states are already voting, while others will begin their early voting periods in the coming days.

Early voting dates, locations and requirements vary by state. Visit Vote.org's Early Voting Calendar to learn about early voting options in your state.

You can also check your state or local election office’s website to confirm details.

Carrying Forward John Lewis' Legacy

Congressman John Lewis dedicated his life to protecting the right to vote and encouraging every generation to participate in our democracy.

As he often reminded us: "The right to vote is precious, almost sacred. It is the most powerful, non-violent tool we have in a democracy. Make sure your voice is heard and your vote is counted."

The John and Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation continues that commitment by educating and empowering the next generation of voters through initiatives such as our LAUNCH18 Civic Engagement Program.

Hundreds of young people have already taken the Foundation's Civic Engagement Pledge, committing to stay engaged in their communities and participate in future elections.

Students from five Atlanta-area schools participated in voter registration rallies earlier this Fall (Cedar Grove, Columbia, Drew Charter School, Druid Hills and McNair).

John R. Lewis High School in Virginia also held a rally encouraging students to register.

Whether you vote early or on Election Day, make a plan, stay informed and make your voice heard.

LAUNCH18 is the Foundation’s high school voter registration work under the broader B.R.I.D.G.E. program, which supports and encourages the next generation of civic leaders.

"The John and Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation’s B.R.I.D.G.E. program is focused on supporting and encouraging the next generation of civic leaders by recruiting and training Civic Engagement Ambassadors, leveraging Project-based Learning and state-of-the-art curricula; promoting leadership development, organizing on-site voter registration events, fostering a student-led civic culture using the latest technology and data analytics." in white on a blue background with an image of Rep.
